Bethlehem Fair Trade Artisans

Bethlehem Fair Trade Artisans (BFTA) is a fair trade organization that promotes and sells handicrafts that are created by Palestinian artisans. These handicrafts celebrate Palestinian culture and tradition in olive wood, embroidery, mother of pearl, olive oil soap, felt wool and recycled products. BFTA provides major support for 53 family-owned olive wood workshops, ceramics and blown glass factories, 50 women’s cooperatives and groups working with embroidery, recycled glass, basket weaving and jewelry making and five disabled groups making felt wool products and recycled cards.

BFTA seeks to go beyond fair trade outlets with their high quality handmade products by partnering with USA businesses that market similar products. They are also interested in providing products that are designed to meet the specific needs of American consumers. Their product categories include olive wood, ceramics, embroidery, felt wool, recycled glass and paper as well as silver jewelry.-

EagleFlex Abrasives Inc.

EagleFlex Abrasives Inc. has been operating over 20 years as a private company that specializes in the manufacture of cutting and grinding discs for use on iron, stone, stainless steel and other materials in all sizes and specifications.

Rawabi Tech Hub

Rawabi, the largest private investment project in Palestinian history, will eventually host 40,000 residents in Palestine’s first planned city, nestled in the storied hills between Ramallah, Nablus, and Jerusalem.

Located in the heart of Rawabi City’s commercial center, the Rawabi Tech Hub will join a dynamic and cosmopolitandowntown area, filled not only with corporate offices, but also a wide range of restaurants, cafes, hotels, cinemas and retail shops.

The Tech Hub will provide office space, training and educational services, an incubator for start-ups and shared services for human resources, financial, legal and marketing. Rawabi Tech Hub is seeking to attract American companies to open their operations in Palestine and to move into this location. They are also looking for technical assistance from American experts. This Week in Palestine (TWIP) is a monthly publication that covers cultural, social and political topics in Palestine. It promotes and documents Palestinian life. It informs tourists about events, attractions, activities, entertainment as well as eating and shopping establishments. It contains maps of Palestinian communities in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem. TWIP is available without charge in major cities and towns in Palestine. Individuals and organizations that live outside of Palestine can pay to subscribe to the publication. Ads in the publication generate income that has sustained the magazine for over sixteen years.

TWIP seeks to link with Palestinian, Arab and other American networks that will distribute the magazine in the USA. They also seek help to answer the question of whether to emphasize print, digital or both as they enter the American market.
